Sweet Grilled Teriyaki Chicken

Deliciously sweet and savory grilled chicken marinated in homemade teriyaki sauce, perfect for summer cookouts.

  • pounds boneless and skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 4 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger

Instructions

  1. Begin by placing the chicken thighs in a large bowl or a gallon-sized Ziploc bag.
  2. Prepare the marinade by mixing together the soy sauce, brown sugar, pineapple juice, garlic, and ginger in a medium bowl.
  3. Pour the marinade over the chicken and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  4. Retrieve the chicken from the fridge and simmer the marinade in a saucepan for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and grill the chicken for about 6-8 minutes on each side.
  6. Transfer the grilled chicken to a baking dish, pour over the remaining hot teriyaki sauce, and serve.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate overnight. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
