One Pan Creamy Garlic Chicken & Cheesy Bowtie Pasta

A comforting one-pan meal featuring tender chicken and al dente bowtie pasta in a silky garlic cream sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups low sodium chicken broth
  • 3 cups uncooked bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 cup whole milk or half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter in a large skillet or deep pan over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken pieces with 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  3. Cook the chicken for 5 to 6 minutes until golden and fully cooked, then remove and set aside.
  4. Sauté the minced garlic for about a minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in 4 cups chicken broth and bring to a boil, scraping the bottom of the pan.
  6. Stir in 3 cups uncooked bowtie pasta, reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 12 to 15 minutes.
  7. Stir in 1 cup whole milk (and 1/2 cup heavy cream if using) and add the cooked chicken back to the pan.
  8. Add 1 cup shredded mozzarella and 1/2 cup grated Parmesan, stirring until melted.
  9. Garnish with 2 tablespoons fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For a thinner sauce, add a splash more chicken broth or milk at the end. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 to 4 days.
