One-Pan Butter Parmesan Pasta

A deliciously simple one-pan pasta dish with garlic, butter, and Parmesan cheese that’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or preferred variety)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until bubbly and fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the butter and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the pasta along with the broth, stirring to ensure the pasta is submerged.
  4. Increase heat to medium-high and bring to a boil. Then, reduce heat to low, cover the skillet, and let simmer for 10-12 minutes.
  5. Once the pasta is cooked, remove the lid and simmer for another 2-3 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  6. Remove from heat, stir in the Parmesan cheese until it melts and creates a smooth sauce.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

If the sauce is too runny, allow it to simmer uncovered for a few minutes to thicken.
