  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add 1 cup of brown sugar, stirring continuously until bubbling, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda until evenly combined.
  5. Pour the hot toffee mixture over the pretzels and gently stir to coat.
  6. Spread the coated pretzels on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes for even coating.
  8. Let the pretzels cool completely, then break apart clusters if needed.
  9. Optional: Drizzle with melted chocolate or sprinkle with sea salt before serving.

Notes

Stir the toffee constantly when cooking to prevent scorching. Store cooled pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
