Garlic Butter Chicken with Bowtie Pasta

A comforting dish featuring tender chicken in a silky garlic butter sauce with bowtie pasta, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, trimmed and patted dry
  • 8 ounces bowtie pasta, dry
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of the cooking water.
  2. Season the chicken breasts evenly with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a large skillet, melt 1/4 cup of butter over medium-high heat. When the butter is hot and foaming, add the chicken and sear for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  5. In the same skillet, melt the remaining 1/4 cup of butter and add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine and scraping up any browned bits from the pan. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  7. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, stirring until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  8. Slice the cooked chicken into pieces and return them to the pan. Add the cooked bowtie pasta and toss gently until everything is well coated in the sauce.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Use room temperature chicken for even cooking and do not overcrowd the pan when searing.
