A creamy and tangy coleslaw featuring finely chopped cabbage, carrots, and onions, enveloped in a rich mayonnaise-based dressing.

  • 65 g granulated sugar
  • 60 ml whole milk
  • 60 ml buttermilk
  • 38 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 22 ml distilled white vinegar
  • 3 g fine sea salt
  • 0.5 g ground black pepper
  • 800 g finely chopped green cabbage
  • 30 g shredded carrot
  • 20 g minced white onion

Instructions

  1. Prepare the vegetables: Finely chop the cabbage and carrots to a uniform, rice-sized consistency for an authentic texture. Mince the white onion.
  2. Make the dressing: In a large mixing bowl, vigorously whisk the mayonnaise, sugar, milk, buttermilk, lemon juice, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth and fully emulsified.
  3. Combine ingredients: Add the chopped cabbage, shredded carrot, and minced onion to the bowl. Mix thoroughly until the vegetables are evenly coated with the dressing.
  4. Chill: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for a minimum of 120 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. For optimal taste and texture, letting it rest overnight is recommended.

Notes

For the freshest flavor, always use freshly squeezed lemon juice and high-quality mayonnaise. You can also adjust the sugar to your taste preference.
