Crispy Parmesan Chicken with Creamy Garlic Sauce

A comforting, restaurant-style dinner featuring chicken cutlets with a crunchy Parmesan crust and a rich, creamy garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut in half lengthwise to make 4 thin cutlets)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the flour, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and ground black pepper in a shallow dish. Stir until evenly mixed.
  3. Dredge each chicken cutlet in the flour mixture, pressing lightly so the coating adheres, then shake off any excess.
  4. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once foaming subsides, add the coated chicken cutlets and cook until golden brown, about 4 to 5 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate. If desired, keep warm in the oven.
  6. Add the minced garlic to the same skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  7. Pour in the chicken broth and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, scraping up browned bits from the skillet.
  8. Stir in the heavy cream and cook until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.
  9. Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the creamy garlic sauce over, and heat through for a minute or two.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Pound uneven chicken breasts for uniform cooking and refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days.
