Creamy Mozzarella Garlic Butter Chicken Bowties

A cozy, indulgent weeknight dinner featuring tender chicken and bowtie pasta in a rich cream sauce with mozzarella and Parmesan.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 tbsp butter, divided
  • 1 lb bowtie pasta
  • 4 cups heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, plus more for topping
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside. Reserve a 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until no longer pink, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the softened cream cheese until smooth, then add the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan, stirring until melted.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet, add the drained pasta, and gently toss to coat everything in the sauce. Serve immediately with extra shredded mozzarella on top.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for easier blending. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently.
