Cream Cheese Danishes

Delightful Cream Cheese Danishes with a flaky pastry and creamy filling, perfect for any breakfast or brunch.

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 puff pastry sheets, slightly thawed
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1/2 cup jam, jelly, or chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth. Add in the egg yolk, lemon juice, and vanilla, mixing until well combined.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut them into squares. Prick the centers of each square with a fork.
  4. Brush the edges of each pastry square with a mixture of egg white and water.
  5. Spoon the cream cheese filling onto the center of each square and top with your choice of jam, jelly, or chocolate chips.
  6. Place the prepared pastries on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth for the glaze.
  8. Allow the Danishes to cool slightly before drizzling them with the glaze before serving.

Notes

Tips: Keep puff pastry evenly rolled for uniform baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Freeze unbaked Danishes for later use.
