Cheesy Pizza Ravioli Bake

A comforting and hearty dish that combines the flavors of pizza with a baked pasta dish, perfect for weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 450 grams Italian sausage
  • 700 milliliters marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 200 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 65 grams chopped bacon
  • Pepperoni slices, as desired
  • 710 grams frozen cheese ravioli

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Begin by dicing the yellow onion and chopping the bacon if it is not pre-chopped.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until it becomes translucent.
  4. Next, add the Italian sausage to the skillet. Break it up with a spoon and cook until browned throughout. If there is any excess grease, drain it off.
  5. Stir in the Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and freshly ground black pepper. Then, pour in the marinara sauce.
  6. Mix in the chopped bacon and pepperoni slices as desired. Stir everything to combine thoroughly.
  7. Gently stir the frozen cheese ravioli into the skillet mixture until they are evenly coated.
  8. Transfer the entire mixture into a large baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top. If you like, add extra bacon or pepperoni for added flavor.
  9. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  10. Finally, remove the foil and place the baking dish under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes until the topping is golden and crisp.
  11. Allow the dish to cool slightly before serving. Present it warm for the best taste and texture.

Notes

For extra cheesiness, consider using a blend of mozzarella and provolone cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
