  • 700 milliliters marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 200 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 65 grams chopped bacon
  • Pepperoni slices, as desired
  • 710 grams frozen cheese ravioli

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) to get ready for baking.
  2. Begin by dicing the onion and chopping the bacon if it is not already pre-chopped.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until it becomes translucent.
  4. Next, add the Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook it thoroughly, breaking it up with a spoon until it is browned all over. If there is excess grease, drain it off.
  5. Stir in the Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and freshly ground black pepper. Pour in the marinara sauce and add the chopped bacon along with the desired amount of pepperoni slices. Mix everything together until well combined.
  6. Gently fold the frozen cheese ravioli into the skillet mixture until they are evenly coated in the sauce.
  7. Transfer the entire mixture into a large baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top. If you like, add extra bacon or pepperoni on top.
  8. Cover the baking dish with foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  9. After baking, remove the foil and place the dish under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes. This will give the topping a lovely golden and crisp finish.
  10. Allow the dish to cool slightly before serving. It is best served warm for optimal taste and texture.
