Warm, creamy, and deeply comforting, this dish features tender chicken pieces in a rich mozzarella cream sauce served with bowtie pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lb bowtie pasta
  • 4 cups heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, plus more for topping
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving some cooking water.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil and 2 tbsp butter until melted.
  3. Add the chicken pieces, season with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  4. Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, bringing it to a light simmer before whisking in the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  7. Stir in the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan until melted and thickened, adding reserved pasta water if needed to reach your desired consistency.
  8. Combine the cooked pasta and chicken with the sauce, tossing gently to coat everything evenly.
  9. Serve warm, topped with additional mozzarella if desired.

Notes

For even cooking, cut chicken into uniform pieces. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3-4 days.
