Cheesesteak Meatloaf

A comforting twist on classic meatloaf, infused with the rich flavors of cheesesteak including ground beef, pork, sautéed onions, bell peppers, and provolone cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/2 cup sliced roasted red peppers

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the ground beef, ground pork, onion, green bell pepper, garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix until all ingredients are well combined, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of a loaf pan to create an even layer.
  4. Layer half of the provolone cheese, mushrooms, green onions, and roasted red peppers over the meat mixture.
  5. Top with the remaining meat mixture, pressing down to seal the edges.
  6. Bake for 60 minutes, or until the meatloaf is fully cooked through, with an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining provolone cheese over the top. Return to the oven, baking for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts. Serve slices with your favorite side dishes for a complete meal.

Notes

Let the meatloaf rest after baking to keep it moist. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
