Peanut Butter Blossoms

Classic cookies featuring creamy peanut butter with a sweet chocolate kiss on top, perfect for any occasion.

  • 13/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (extra for rolling)
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 40 to 42 milk chocolate kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gradually add the granulated sugar and light brown sugar to the butter, creaming until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the peanut butter until fully combined and smooth.
  5. Add the milk, vanilla extract, and egg, and beat until well incorporated.
  6. Gradually fold in the flour mixture until a stiff dough forms. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 to 60 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Scoop the chilled dough into 1-1/4 inch portions, rolling each into a ball, then coat in extra granulated sugar.
  9. Place on ungreased baking sheets, leaving 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until set and lightly browned.
  11. Press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie while warm.
  12. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough for best results, and store cookies in an airtight container for 3 to 5 days.
