Indulge in the rich flavors of this Marshmallow Chocolate Poke Cake, featuring a decadent devil’s food cake soaked in chocolate and sweetened condensed milk, topped with whipped marshmallow cream and glossy chocolate ganache.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15.25 oz box Devil’s Food Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream (for filling)
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream (for topping)
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 7 oz marshmallow fluff
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (for ganache)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch cake pan to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large bowl, prepare the cake batter according to the package instructions. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool slightly in the pan for about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake, making sure the holes reach the bottom.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Heat in the microwave for about 1-2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth and well combined.
  6. Carefully pour the warm chocolate mixture into the holes of the cake, allowing it to soak in.
  7. In a separate bowl, whip 1 ½ cups of heavy cream until it begins to thicken. Gradually add the powdered sugar, continuing to whip until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the marshmallow fluff until fully combined and smooth.
  8. Spread the whipped marshmallow topping evenly over the cooled cake.
  9. For the ganache, melt the ½ cup of chocolate chips with a small amount of heavy cream in the microwave (about 30 seconds), stirring until smooth. Drizzle the ganache over the marshmallow topping.
  10. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to achieve the best texture.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the whipped cream. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
