Mac and Cheese Meatloaf Casserole

A cozy family favorite that combines creamy macaroni and savory meatloaf, baked to golden perfection.

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 cup macaroni pasta
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the macaroni according to package instructions, about 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk and 1 cup of cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  5. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the meat mixture, add the macaroni, then pour over the cheese sauce. Top with the remaining meat mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top and bake for approximately 45 minutes until bubbly and cooked through (internal temperature 160°F).
  7. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
