Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually mix this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the dough.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cookies are set. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Tips: Use room temperature butter for easier mixing and a better texture. Do not overmix the dough to keep the cookies tender. Store in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
