Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies

Thick, chewy, and packed with gooey chocolate chunks, these giant chocolate chip cookies are perfect for family gatherings or cozy weeknights.

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chunks.
  7. Scoop large portions of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space to spread.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until edges are golden but centers are still soft.

Notes

Chill dough for at least 30 minutes for thicker cookies. Use a mix of chocolate types for enhanced flavor.
