Garlic Butter Chicken Bowties with Cheesy Mozzarella Cream Sauce

A cozy and satisfying weeknight dinner featuring tender chicken, bowtie pasta, and a rich mozzarella cream sauce.

  • 8 oz bowtie pasta
  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/4 cup pasta cooking water.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 to 60 seconds.
  3. Add diced chicken breast, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until browned and cooked through.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth, adding reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
  5. Add cooked bowtie pasta and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook together for a minute until heated through.
  6. Serve warm, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For creaminess, add reserved pasta water or extra heavy cream if the sauce tightens as it cools.
