Creamy Beef Pasta

A cozy and delicious creamy beef pasta dish that brings families together around the dinner table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or penne)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water for later use.
  2. Brown the beef: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and brown it for about 5-7 minutes until it’s no longer pink.
  3. Add garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant; be careful not to let it burn.
  4. Create the sauce: Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, thickening slightly.
  5. Incorporate cheese: Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until melted and well combined. If the sauce feels too thick, you can incorporate some reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency.
  6. Combine the pasta and sauce: Add the drained pasta to the sauce, tossing everything together to ensure the pasta is coated in the creamy goodness. Let it cook for an additional minute on low heat.
  7. Serve and garnish: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to plates, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using ground turkey or chicken. Pair with garlic bread or steamed broccoli for a complete meal.
