Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and the large egg until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients from the first bowl, being careful not to over-mix the dough.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and mini marshmallows, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Drop rounded balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them apart to allow for spreading.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the centers are still soft.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for easy creaming. Store cooled cookies in an airtight container for optimal freshness.
