Browned Butter Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, browned and cooled
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until browned and nutty, then cool slightly.
  3. Combine the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl and beat until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating between additions, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  8. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are golden and the centers are set but soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 4 days. For chewiness, place a slice of bread in the container.
