Browned Butter Blondie

Warm, chewy Blondies enriched with the nutty flavor of browned butter and sweet chocolate chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, brown the butter over medium heat, stirring frequently until it turns golden brown. Once browned, remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the browned butter and brown sugar, mixing until well incorporated.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, making sure each is fully blended before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow to cool before slicing into squares.

Notes
