Black Forest Dump Cake

An effortless Black Forest Dump Cake combining chocolate cake mix, cherry pie filling, and hot fudge sauce for a warm, indulgent dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (21 ounces each) cherry pie filling
  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup hot fudge sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  3. Pour the cherry pie filling into the pan and spread it evenly across the bottom.
  4. In a bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix and melted butter until just combined to create a thick batter.
  5. Spoon the chocolate mixture over the cherry filling, spreading it lightly but don’t worry about covering it completely.
  6. Warm the hot fudge sauce in the microwave until smooth.
  7. Pour the hot fudge sauce evenly over the chocolate mixture.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added crunch, try adding crushed walnuts or pecans on top before baking. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
