Banana Split Dump Cake

A delightful dessert that combines the classic flavors of a banana split with the simplicity of a dump cake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the ripe bananas and mix with the drained crushed pineapple; pour this mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the chopped nuts and chocolate chips over the banana and pineapple layer.
  4. Evenly distribute the dry yellow cake mix over the top without mixing.
  5. Melt the unsalted butter and drizzle it over the dry cake mix layer.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbling around the edges.
  7. Cool for at least 10 minutes before serving warm, topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Ensure pineapple is well-drained to avoid a soggy cake.
