  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • Whipped cream (for serving, optional)
  • Maraschino cherries (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the sliced bananas evenly on the bottom of the dish.
  3. Spoon the drained crushed pineapple over the bananas.
  4. Spread the cherry pie filling on top of the pineapple.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the fruit layers.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts and chocolate chips over the top.
  8. Bake for about 40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the cake is cooked through.
  9. Serve warm topped with whipped cream and garnished with maraschino cherries if desired.

Notes

For extra sweetness, use very ripe bananas. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
